Emergency work is its own discipline. The freight is usually small and light, the distance is often long, the deadline is measured in hours, and the value of the delivery has almost nothing to do with the value of the item in the box. A bearing worth forty pounds can be holding up a line worth thousands an hour.
That changes how the job should be run. There is no point quoting a standard rate against a standard transit time, because the only question that matters is how fast a vehicle can physically get from the part to the plant. Sometimes the answer is a van from thirty miles away. Sometimes it is two drivers in one vehicle running through the night because a single driver would run out of legal hours halfway. We work out which and tell you the honest arrival time.
Having vans spread across the country rather than sitting at one depot is the whole game here. Distance to the collection point is the first cost and the first delay in any emergency job, and it is the one thing a single-site operator cannot fix at short notice.

How fast can you actually get there?
The honest answer is that it depends on the distance from our nearest available van to your collection point, which we can tell you within minutes of you calling. Anyone quoting a universal response time across the whole UK without asking where you are is guessing.
What is double manning and when do I need it?
Two drivers in one vehicle, so that when the first runs out of legally permitted driving hours the second takes over and the van never stops. You need it on long distance runs against a hard deadline, roughly beyond what one driver can legally cover in a shift.
Do you work through the night and at weekends?
Yes. Stoppages happen at inconvenient times by definition. Out of hours running is priced differently and we tell you the rate before dispatching, not afterwards.
Can you collect from a supplier we have never used?
Yes, and often we can collect faster than the supplier can arrange their own carrier. Give us the supplier details, a contact name and the order reference, and we will deal with the counter directly.
