What we actually do

Transport is more than moving something from A to B.

It is the collection that happens on time, the vehicle that fits the job, and the honest answer when a cheaper option would serve you better. Our own van fleet works across the UK, backed by a vetted carrier network for HGV and specialist work, so the vehicle that turns up is either ours or one we have checked ourselves.

Why dedicated

When a parcel network is the wrong tool

Networks are excellent value for standard boxes, and we say so when one is genuinely your cheapest option. They stop being right the moment the consignment is urgent, long, heavy, fragile or valuable.

Parcel network
  • Handling events Six to eight, across collection, hubs, sortation and delivery
  • Route Built around several hundred other consignments
  • Load space Shared, and your goods may be under heavier freight
  • Timing Whenever the round reaches you
  • Best for Standard boxes inside standard weight bands
Dedicated van
  • Handling events Two. Loaded once, unloaded once
  • Route Built around yours
  • Load space Yours alone
  • Timing The window you asked for
  • Best for Urgent, long, heavy, fragile or high value

How it works

Four steps, no surprises

  1. Send the job or call

Two postcodes, what is moving and when it needs to arrive. For urgent work the phone beats a form every time.

  2. We quote a fixed rate

One price covering vehicle, driver, fuel and insurance, plus an honest view on whether a cheaper option suits you better.

  3. Collected and driven direct

Dedicated work goes straight through with no hub and no sorting. You get the driver contact for the journey.

  4. Delivered and evidenced

Name, signature and time back to you, with exceptions reported the same day rather than at invoice.

FAQ

Questions we get asked most

UK-wide coverage: own van fleet, working across the UK
What areas of the UK do you cover?

All of it. We run vans across the country rather than out of a single depot, which is what makes a genuine same day service possible outside one region. HGV work runs nationwide across our own vehicles and our vetted carrier network.

How quickly can a van collect?

It depends on where the collection is and where our nearest available van happens to be, so we give you a real time on the call rather than publishing a figure we could not honour everywhere. Anyone quoting one universal response time for the whole UK without asking your postcode is guessing.

How quickly can I get a price?

Send a collection postcode, a delivery postcode, what is moving and when it needs to arrive, and we come back with a fixed rate. Urgent jobs are faster by phone. Complicated movements involving access restrictions, oversized freight or port windows take a little longer because we check them properly instead of guessing.

What is the difference between same day and next day?

Same day is a dedicated vehicle collecting and driving straight to the destination with no hub in between. Next day is booked ahead and runs overnight, which costs considerably less. Most freight sent same day did not need to be, it needed booking a few hours earlier, and notice is the biggest single lever on price in this industry.

Should I use you or a parcel network?

For standard boxes inside standard weight bands, often the network is cheaper and we will tell you so. Use us when the consignment is urgent, long, heavy, fragile, high value or awkwardly shaped, because those are precisely the items network conveyors damage and a dedicated van does not.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. We hold a Goods Vehicle Operator Licence, goods in transit cover and public and employers liability insurance, and we are registered at Companies House. We will send the certificates before you place a first job rather than after you have asked twice.

Do you use subcontractors?

The van fleet is ours. For HGV work, temperature controlled, ADR and abnormal loads we place work with vetted carriers where they are better equipped or better positioned, and we say so rather than implying everything runs on our own vehicles. Every carrier has their operator licence and insurance verified, with the checks repeated rather than done once at onboarding.

Is there a minimum contract or minimum volume?

No. One urgent van job is a perfectly normal enquiry. Rates do improve with regular planned volume because it lets us plan routes and return legs, so it is worth telling us if a one off is likely to repeat.

How do you handle a delivery that goes wrong?

You get told the same day, by a person, with the actual reason. Sites turn vehicles away, loads are not ready and traffic happens. What you should not accept from any carrier is finding out at invoice stage.
