Who we are

Berks Fleet operates this website and is the data controller for information submitted through it. You can reach us at info@berksfleet.co.uk.

What we collect

Only what you send us. When you complete the enquiry form we collect your name, company name if you give one, email address, telephone number, the service you are interested in, the collection and delivery postcodes, the date, and any description of the consignment you provide.

We do not collect anything else through the website. There is no analytics script, no advertising pixel, no session recording and no behavioural tracking.

Cookies

This website sets no cookies. It does not use localStorage or sessionStorage either. There is nothing to consent to, which is why you are not being asked to dismiss a banner.

No tracking cookies We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking technologies.

Why we use your information

  • To reply to your enquiry and provide a quotation.
  • To plan and carry out a job you book, which includes passing the collection and delivery details to the driver.
  • To pass necessary delivery information to a carrier in our vetted network where a movement is placed with them.
  • To keep records of jobs performed, for invoicing and insurance.

The lawful basis is legitimate interests for responding to a business enquiry, and performance of a contract once you book a job.

Who processes it

Enquiries submitted through this site are delivered to us through a small number of service providers acting as processors on our behalf:

  • Our website host, which serves the pages and runs the form endpoint.
  • A messaging service, so the operations team is alerted to a new enquiry immediately.
  • A spreadsheet service, which keeps the enquiry register.
  • An email provider, for our correspondence with you.

Where a job is placed with a carrier in our network, that carrier receives only the information needed to perform the collection and delivery. We do not sell or rent your details to anyone, and we do not share them for marketing purposes.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become jobs are kept for up to 12 months, so we can pick up the conversation if you come back to us. Records of completed jobs are kept for six years, which is the period we need them for tax, insurance and any claim arising from a movement.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Email info@berksfleet.co.uk and we will deal with it within one month.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a request you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information we will update this page and the date above.
